While 2020 has proven itself to be a bit *cough* unprecedented *cough*, some reprieve has come in the form of adorable celebrity babies attending their own premieres. From Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden kicking off the year with the surprise announcement that they had welcomed their first child to the Bella twins giving birth within hours of each other, it’s been a year for Hollywood families adding new co-stars to their cast.
And many A-listers have taken us along for the ride through announcing their pregnancy online and documenting their journeys to parenthood (whether it’s for the first, second, or fourth time). While some couples have opted to keep their newest additions to their families out of the spotlight (a decision that you have to respect), some have posted photos straight from the hospital (looking at you, DJ Khaled!).

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove on August 27 and celebrated her birthday by encouraging others to donate to UNICEF through a fundraised set up in celebration of the newest member of their family.

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s whirlwind relationship continued this August when the couple celebrate the birth of the daughter, Lyla Marie. “We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed,” the Jurassic Park star wrote in the Instagram announcement.
This was the first child for Katherine and the second for Chris, who has an 8-year-old son, Jack, from his previous marriage to Anna Faris. The Parks and Recreation actor and the Gift of Forgiveness author first started dating in June 2018 and were married a year later.
Much like her pregnancy, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have kept most of the information about their new daughter under wraps. The private parents released her name, Willa, and her birthday, July 22, Entertainment Tonight reported. But the tiniest Jonas has yet to make an appearance on Instagram.
But considering that both Joe and Sophie have literally grown up in the media spotlight, you have to respect their decision to keep their daughter shielded as long as they can.
The second baby girl with Dove in her name on this list was welcomed to the world by Teddi Mellencamp and her husband Edwin Arroyave on February 25. Little Dove is the third child for the couple, and her pregnancy was thoroughly documented during the most recent season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. (Even if her fellow castmates sometimes forgot to have food and drink options available for Teddi that weren’t sushi and alcohol.)
Teddi used IVF for first two pregnancies, and this third one was a total surprise. “It was so many rounds, but this time we really weren’t doing anything!” she told Us Weekly. “I was on vacation! Just having fun with my family! It was a complete surprise.”
During the RHOBH reunion, Teddi revealed that Dove had been diagnosed with a condition called lambdoid craniosynostosis and that she would be undergoing neurosurgery. She shared a few days later that procedure was successful and the 6-month-old is “doing great.”
Ciara and Russell Wilson’s family leveled up to a party of five this July with their birth of their son, Win Harrison. The couple and little Win had quite the celebration waiting for them when they returned home, including a wall of blue balloons, a giant teddy, and silver balloons spelling out the baby’s name.
“I love being a mom,” Ciara told E! after the birth of her first son, Future Zahir. She went on to say: “It really comes first before everything now. Everything has just happened in perfect timing for me with my son. I felt like I needed to have him in reference to how he’s grounding me and putting things into perspective for me. It just kind of makes me not care so much about things. Like, I don’t sweat the small stuff anymore and I give that credit to my son.”

After writing an open and honest blog about her miscarriage two years ago, Beverley Mitchell and her husband Michael Cameron welcome baby number three this past July. The 7th Heaven star took to Instagram to announce the arrival of Kenzie Lynne and Hutton Michael’s new little sister, Mayzel Josephine.
“[She] has captured our hearts and we couldn’t love her more!” Beverley wrote. “We are over the moon and soaking up so the cuddles and showering her with kisses!”

The first time Brooklyn 99 star Melissa Fumero was pregnant while filming, the team hid her pregnancy using the usual camera tricks, props, and a situation that required Melissa to go undercover as a pregnant lady (convenient, right?). According to E!, when producers felt it was time for Amy, her character on the show, to start talking about getting pregnant with her husband, Jake (played by Andy Sandberg), it was only a little before Melissa found out she was pregnant in real life.
In the end, the timing all worked out, and Melissa and her husband, David Fumero, welcomed their second child on February 14. “Welcome to the world, Axel,” she wrote on an Instagram post announcing the birth. “You have made Valentine’s Day my new favorite holiday!”
According to reports, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake quietly welcomed their second child, a baby boy, in July. While the 7th Heaven star and the Grammy award winner haven’t officially issued a statement and the name of 5-year-old Silas’ younger brother has not been released, Justin’s friend and collaborator Brian McKnight confirmed the birth to multiple outlets, according to E!.
“These little people come around, and they require so much, and your schedule is really not your own, nor is it important anymore, and it’s very clear that it’s your life now revolving around this dude,” Jessica told Marie Claire in 2017 about her experience being a mother. “I’m not that person who feels like, Oh, my whole life changes for my kid, but it does.”
The award for biggest baby surprise this year might belong to Iggy Azalea. The rapper announced in June that she had given birth via Instagram Stories, writing, “I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world,” she said, as reported by CNN at the time.
Iggy has yet to share any further details about her first child, but, the “Fancy” singer wrote in her post, she “wanted to make it clear he is not a secret. I love him beyond words.” And that’s really all that matters.
Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner tied on the knot on the first season of Married At First Sight. Since then, the couple has been documenting their journey from newlyweds to parents on their own spin-off Jamie and Doug Plus One and social media.
That includes when Jamie went into labor with their second child in May. The reality TV star Instagram live-streamed part of Hendrix’s birth (who was initially names Hayes before the parents decided he was more a “Hendrix,” according to Today) and later wrote that she wanted to be online longer, but was in “so much pain during contractions. I wanted to really focus on my breathing and being one with my son. Within 6 hours he was OUT!”
After two miscarriages and “negative after negative on the pregnancy test,” Jamie used her Instagram post announcing her pregnancy to support those who are also having trouble growing their family. “I know the instant internal pain that comes from another’s pregnancy announcement – even if you are or at least want to be – happy for the lucky couple,” she wrote. “I just want you to know that your rainbow will come too. The storm can’t stay forever. Hold onto hope! I am thinking of you!”
Grimes and Elon Musk puzzled the internet when they announced that their new son was named X AE A-12 last May. (The name was later changed to X AE A-Xii in order to comply with California laws that stipulate a baby’s name can only include letters of the English alphabet, Business Insider reports.) And Grimes told Bloomberg that she’s been calling him “Little X.”
The couple has also previously stated that they intent to use a gender-neutral parenting style, which means Little X will decide their own gender identity when they’re older, instead of following the gender assigned at birth. “I don’t want to gender them in case that’s not how they feel in their life,” Grimes said in a YouTube livestream, per Business Insider.
Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens were among those parents who were suddenly faced with giving birth at the beginning of a pandemic. The former U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team goalkeeper and the former NFL tight end welcomed twin boys, Vittorio and Lozen, to the world on March 4.
The couple shared the news on Uninterrupted’s Twitter account, Sports Illustratedreports, and used the post to also thank the health care workers who assisted with the birth. “We would like to thank all the doctors who helped take care of our babies during our time in the NICU,” Hope says in the video. After tying the knot in December 2019, Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson announced they were expecting their first child together the following January. And the Little Fires Everywhere actor and the Queen and Slim star confirmed the birth of their daughter to People in April.
Just weeks before, Jodie reflected on her journey to motherhood with a stunning Instagram post, proudly featuring her pregnant belly. “A fantastic voyage that begins in wonder and transformation,” she wrote on in the post’s caption. “I will never forget how this felt and now won’t soon forget how it looked.”

The former MTV VJ talked with Hoda Kotb about parenthood in 2019, just a little over a year before Goldie’s birth. “I sometimes try to love my kids, I think, less, almost on purpose, because I’m so scared of loving them too much,” he said on the Today show. “Because my parents, my mom especially, loved me so much, it was almost too much. And I know that now because when she died the hurt was a transference of the love, right? In May 2018, the former World of Dance host talked to Harper’s Bazaar about having her daughter, Everly, (with former husband Channing Tatum) has changed her life. “Whether you try and hide it or not, most actresses and actors have a certain sense of anxious desperation about what their next job is,” she said. “As soon as I had Everly, it went away. I had this freedom of, ‘Well, I could never work another day in my life, and I have a purpose.'”
Laura Prepon and Ben Foster welcomed baby number two, a boy, to their family in February. Just two months after giving birth to her son, Isaac, on January 18, Ashley Graham and her husband, Justin Ervin, packed up their family of three and drove with her mom from NYC to Nebraska to quarantine with Ashley’s family on their farm. “It was 20 hours! Obviously we stopped to feed Isaac and to pee, but that was it,” she told O Magazine. “We didn’t know what was gonna happen in New York, we just wanted to be in a place where we had space and outside accessibility.”
But, like the supermodel’s approach to most things, she seems to be taking raising a newborn during a pandemic and motherhoods in general with as much positivity and optimism as she can. “When I look at my new stretch marks and the changes that my body went through, it reminds me that, as women, we’re all superheroes,” she told Elle in August. “I’m always reminded that our bodies were built to do this. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to give birth, but I didn’t realize it until afterward.”

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden started the new year with some pretty big news. The couple, who were married in 2015, announced on January 3 that they had welcomed a daughter, Raddix Madden, into the world reportedly via a surrogate. “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family,” Cameron shared on an Instagram post. “While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures of sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would even say RAD:).”
In July, the Charlie’s Angels star told Jimmy Fallon that motherhood so far has been “heaven.” She went on to say, “It’s so gratifying to actually see that growth and be a part of it and to help let her be her. It’s just amazing.”
It’s a house full of boys for Kailyn Lowry with the birth of her fourth son, Romello Creed, on July 30. “I can check giving birth during a pandemic off my bucket list now,” the Teen Mom 2 star joked to E!.
The answer to the question of whether Kailyn is interested in adding more kids to the mix is, probably. The reality TV star shared on her podcast, Coffee Convos, that she always wanted to have a big family, with six kids as her “max,” In Touch Weekly reported.
“I just feel like, I’ve said it before, I’m sure these people are sick of hearing me say it but I just didn’t have siblings and like family before, and so like having a big family was always–I don’t want to say always but since I started having kids–I think I always wanted my kids to have siblings,” she said at the time.

America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams’ family of three grew to a family of four with the arrival of their daughter Lucia Marisol on May 4. Lucia was born just in time to deliver the Superstore star “Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself,” America wrote in the Instagram post announcing her birth.
Since their baby shower was cancelled due to COVID-19, America and Ryan encouraged people to make a donation to Yes We Can World Foundation, which works to create schools for migrant children at the U.S.-Mexico border, in lieu of gifts.
“As this baby grows inside and I attempt to breathe through the fears and unknowns of this time, I am thinking of all you other mamas bringing new life into this world right now,” the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star wrote in an earlier Instagram post. “And also of all the women across generations and centuries and borders who have and are currently birthing new life in the midst of so many extraordinary and daunting circumstances. Life is a miracle, and mamas make it possible through their strength and power. Hang in there pregnant mamas! We got this.”
Alex Morgan and her husband, Servando Carrasco, added a new member to their team on May 7, their new daughter, Charlie Elena. The U.S. Women’s National Team captain announced she was pregnant in October, Sports Illustrated reported, just three months after she led the U.S. to a second straight Women’s World Cup title.
“She made us wait longer than expected,” Alex wrote on Instagram of Charlie’s arrival. “But I should have known she would do it her way and her way only. My super moon baby.” Just chalk motherhood up as another goal made for the soccer superstar.
I want to share with you some joyful news. On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son’s middle name is Morgan. It’s a family name on my mom’s side. I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy. As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son’s birth. Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him. It is an extraordinary blessing – what she, and all surrogates give to families who cant have children. My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives I do wish my mom and dad and my brother, Carter, were alive to meet Wyatt, but I like to believe they can see him. I imagine them all together, arms around each other, smiling and laughing, happy to know that their love is alive in me and in Wyatt, and that our family continues.

Wyatt Morgan Cooper’s birth announcement became part of the nightly news when Anderson Cooper dedicated three minutes at the end of a CNN Town Hall to sharing the news that he was now a dad. “On Monday I became a father,” he said. “I’ve never said that out loud and it astonishes me.” The anchor went on to explain that his new son is named after his dad, who died when Anderson was 10 years old, and that he hopes that he can be as good of a dad as his own was.
“It’s extraordinary. It’s astonishing,” Anderson told Stephen Colbert the following week on The Late Show. “I just stare at him and hold him and I just can’t believe that he’s going to depend on me and that he belongs (to me) and that he’s here, and it’s just astonishing. I just never dreamed–I mean, I’ve always dreamed about it but I never thought I would actually be able to do it. It’s just been incredible.”

Raising a newborn during a pandemic has called for some adjustments to their household, Chloe told WSJ Magazine in August, Buzzfeed reported. In addition to the personally feeling like she’s never able to get anything done, the Oscar nominee shared that her gallery-owner husband is on Zoom calls “24 hours a day,” so Vanja has already made his fair share of video call cameos, for which he has to win the award for most adorable coworker.
Iskra Lawrence’s first child with boyfriend Philip Payne almost didn’t make it through delivery, the model revealed on Instagram commemorating his birth in May. Her “first round draft pick,” as she calls her new son in the caption, had to be resuscitated by their midwife after mom and baby already had gone through 24 hours of active labor.
“You truly are our miracle and I will be grateful every single day for you,” Iskra wrote. “Your story is just beginning I can’t even imagine the impact you’ll have in this world and the dreams you will create. Even while pregnant, Teyana Taylor and friends know how to throw one hell of a party evidently. Imam Shumpert joked in his Instagram post on September 6 announcing the birth of his second daughter with the singer-songwriter that “Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!!”
The NBA player also revealed that, like their first daughter, Junie, Rue was born in the couple’s bathroom, which was something Imam said he never thought would be the case “in a million years.”
“When I got pregnant, I just kinda had a whole other mindset,” Teyana told Vanity Fair in 2016. “A different kinda grind, a different kinda hunger, a different kinda focus. Junie really made me a better person ’cause she taught me to trust.”
Call it kismet that twins Nikki and Brie Bella both got pregnant at the same time and ended up giving birth the same weekend. Nikki, the older of the twins by 16 minutes, according to E!, along with her fiance Dancing With The Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev welcomed a new baby boy, Matteo, on July 31. “Our baby boy is here and we couldn’t be HAPPIER and more in LOVE!” the Total Bellas star wrote on Instagram. “Everyone is safe and healthy.”
Nikki told People earlier that she and Artem weren’t even trying to get pregnant, but she kept having this feeling that she should take a pregnancy test and it was, of course, positive. “I can’t imagine life without being a mom and experiencing the miracle of life and raising a child,” Nikki told the publication. “I’m just so family-oriented that I couldn’t imagine not having that family life.”
Brie Bella doubled the Bella family’s excitement when she and husband Daniel Bryan welcomed their second child together on August 1. (Although USA Today reports that Brie actually beat Nikki in making her son’s birth social media official.) The younger twin told People that she and Daniel were “shocked” when she got pregnant with Buddy Dessert, especially since she had just made peace with the idea that 2-year-old Birdie would be their only child.
“My husband and I were trying for seven or eight months, but then I felt in my heart it was a sign from God, like, ‘You guys are good with one,’ so we stopped trying,” Brie said. “I took a test two days before Thanksgiving, and when I saw the positive sign, I was like, ‘Oh, s–!’ “
Given their surprise pregnancies and births only hours apart, you can expect that there is much more double-trouble from Matteo and Buddy to come.
Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias, who have been together for nearly 20 years, welcomed their third child (and most adorable future Grand Slam winner) on January 30. The couple announced that baby Mary had joined the household of the tennis champ, singer, and their two-year-old twins, Lucy and Nichols, with a series of social media posts that they captioned simply with the date and “My sunshine.”
In an interview with People en Espanol in 2019, the Grammy winner said that his kids, “make me thrive to be a better person. They are my daily inspiration.”

Christina Milian became a mom a second time over with the birth of her baby boy Isaiah, her first child with partner Matt Pokora, at the end of January. The singer-songwriter couple both posted black and white photos of their new child holding onto one of their fingers on Instagram to celebrate little Isaiah’s arrival. “And so we begin,” Christina captioned her post. “Simply perfect. The world is yours Son.”
This is the Love Don’t Cost a Thing star’s second child; she has a 9-year-old daughter, Violet, from her previous marriage to The-Dream. “One of the best and most rewarding things to ever happen is being a mom and I don’t want to take that for granted,” Christina told E! in May. “It’s our first child together and I’m raising my child for the first time with his dad from the beginning and it’s really special to me. This is what life is all about and I don’t mind the break.”
It was ANOTHER ONE! for Nicole Tuck and DJ Khaled with the birth of their second son, Aalam, in January. The Grammy winner documented the birth with a series of posts on Instagram, including a super sweet shot of Aalam and big brother Asahd in the hospital. “WE THE BEST ! MORE LOVE MORE BLESSINGS !” DJ Khaled captioned the post.
In true DJ Khaled fashion, Aalam already has his own Instagram, trademark, according to TMZ, and you can bet, like his big brother, he’ll be getting some executive producer credits real soon.
Predicting lots of snuggles and love and the occasional crying fit moving in for Dylan Dreyer as she and her husband, Brian Fichera, had their second baby on January 1. The meteorologist and Today show co-host called into the show the next day to give an update on little Oliver George.
“I feel like I’m in heaven,” she said. “I don’t know, second time around maternity leave, it’s like you just appreciate every moment that much more…I don’t know what’s going on this time around, it seems just so easy, knock on wood.”
